Collection: Bartleby Objects

Bartleby Objects is a multi-disciplinary design studio, making objects of use for the home and individual established in 2006. They make objects to make daily life a little sweeter, a little easier.

They view techniques to be expressions of culture, and therefore, combine historical and contemporary methods  to represent a wide range of expressions.
Their products are made on an intimate scale - one at a time, by hand - in the Brooklyn studio by owner, designer, and primary maker, Mary L Chan. All exposed outer stitches are hand-punched and double-needle saddle-stitched. Bartleby Objects exclusively uses full-grain Italian vegetable-tanned leathers, known for their durability and beautiful texture.  These leathers have an open texture to absorb natural oils, to age gracefully, and become more supple with use.
